Message received morning of 15th April
It is with great sadness of heart and with hope in the Resurrection that we share the news that our beloved brother and friend Fr. John Kearns died this afternoon in the company of his loved ones. May Jesus welcome him and bring comfort to those who will grieve his passing so deeply. John was a beautiful person and an inspiring priest. "Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen. St. Paul of the Cross, pray for John.
I write to inform you that our brother, Fr. John Kearns, the Provincial of St. Joseph’s Province (England/ Wales/Sweden) has been diagnosed with a serious illness.
Please feel free to share this news, particularly with those members of your entity who participated in the last General Chapter 2018, as they would have met John there. More importantly, I appeal to you to join me in praying each day for Fr. John, that he may be strengthened in his faith and hope to live through this moment of passion and, in particular, asking God’s intervention to grant a miracle in this need through the intercession of Blessed Dominic Barberi.

PRAYER
O God,
who so lovingly raised Blessed Dominic to the heights of holiness,
learning and apostolic zeal and made him a powerful minister of your mercy,
listen to our humble request for the healing of Father John Kearns.
We pray that you will, in your goodness, grant a miracle through the intercession of Blessed Dominic,
so that the Church may further honour him on earth and that many more people will come to know and invoke the help of this faithful servant of the Church.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord Amen.
